The Goods

This last week was full of lots of GOODS!

Craft Day – love getting together with these ladies and crafting away.  Today we got a special visitor for lunch, he makes me smile

Recital – Kailey, Kennedy and Karsynn all had their spring recital for piano and violin.  They did such a great job, I was sure a proud mamma.  I even got emotional during Kailey’s duet with Morgan (her teacher) since it might be the last time they get to play together for awhile.  Darn change.  I’ve come up with a great solution – fly Morgan in every week for lessons!  Win Win Right?

EVMCO – Can I just say these concerts are AMAZING, the best concerts I’ve ever attended.  Brett and Brandon Stewart are musical geniuses. I am tickled to have Kennedy be a part of such a wonderful program.  Kailey wants to join in the fall which makes me even happier.

Singing Gig – Harmony sounds had a performance on Saturday.  I sure do love singing with these ladies!  We got invited back to sing for the Diamond Backs – I will keep you posted on the date once we find out.

Company – Lee’s parents were in town for a few days and we really enjoyed having them around.  The girls got spoiled rotten, they sure do love their Grammy and Grampy.

Work visit – GoDaddy has been a very “secure” work environment for as long as I can remember.  They’ve never allowed any visitors on any of the premises.  That rule changed!  Kendyl and I were able to go have lunch with Lee inside his work.  He gave us a tour and showed us around.  It was fun to finally see where he slaves aways every day all day long.  We just might have to make this part of our weekly routine.

No Homework – Since this last week was AIMS testing we were homework free!  Every night was so chill, no stress, no frustration, and no tears.  I loved it. We even got two free breakfasts for the girls, thanks McDonalds.

No Volunteering – Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy volunteering, but it sure takes up a lot of time.  With the AIMS testing they aren’t allowed to have volunteers on the campus.  So for the last 2 weeks I haven’t gone, I’m feeling mighty free with my calendar not filled up as much.

Sorry about the quality of photos – I still don’t know how to upload videos so I had to settle for a snapshot from the video.  All about the memories right.

Happy Easter 2013

I will catch up later, promise.  In the meantime, Happy Easter!

More Running

Kennedy and Karsynn participated in the district wide meet this last week. They don’t love to run, but they know it is healthy and they are both such great sports. Twice a week they get to run with their school friends, and once a month they have meets with a few other schools. This meet was on a much bigger scale and the girls really seemed to enjoy it. I think their favorite part was getting the cute little goodie bags afterwards. I’m so proud of these two cute girls.

Kailey had activity days and got to go on a bike ride. She seems to really enjoy being with the older group and she loves her leaders. She also is a proud owner of an African Dwarf Frog. The school used several of these frogs for their science unit and offered them to the kids. Kailey did lots of research to find out what type of habitat she wanted to create for her frog. She made a list of everything needed and we headed to the pet store. I told her I’d match what she spent. I loved watching her price things out and trying to find the best deals. She loves her little Chloe and has been super responsible with her so far. She even loves feeding her bloodworms and cleaning her water. Since she only paid for 1/2 of Chloe’s home I told her that she needed to share. After 3 hours of trying to share, she brought me $15 and offered to by my share so she could be the sole owner. I love this kid, she is so fun when she is happy and excited about things.

Happy Birthday Kailey Paige

Today my oldest hit double digits! I’ve found myself reflecting on the past 10 years, from the day I brought her home from the hospital wondering what  the heck I had gotten myself into, to this morning sending her out the door to strings practice wondering if I’m doing ok at teaching her the things  she needs to know. Parenting is such a wonderful blessing that I am so very thankful for, but it’s also a huge responsibility that I often find myself questioning my qualifications. I look back at all the things I’ve learned along the way and also look forward to all the things I still get to learn during the next 10 years. Hopefully I can enjoy each day as it comes and know in my heart that I am doing the best that I can.

Happy birthday to my sassy, fun loving, talented, social little butterfly, I sure do love you Kailey!

Happy Halloween

From my Elementary School Girls!

Fall Break!

So today is the start of our Fall Break! We are pretty stoked around here. Lee took the whole week off which means even more fun! Since the weather here is perfect we decided to stick around and let the girls each pick a day to plan. They will chose what we eat, where we eat, what we do, and when we get to do it! I’m sure this will get crazy and wild, but hey, that’s what its all about right? Today was a little warm up to our big week. We woke up to Lees delicious pancakes, went to piano lessons (we have to keep a bit of routine, or I go crazy), and then headed out to see Snow White at Hale Theater. The girls loved it! Afterwards we drove by some food trucks and decided to sample the goods. Tonight Lee and I get to finish off our evening with a hot date! Life is Good!

Back to School 2012

Back to school is always fun and exciting!
The morning went so smooth I didn’t even have to wake them up. They were so excited they had their charts done and were ready a whole hour before we had to leave. If only every morning could be like this.

Summer Theater

This summer Kailey and Kennedy had the opportunity to be in summer theater. Their aunt Tanya and Koby’s Mom put it on every year for youth. Last summer Kennedy had such a great time doing it that this year Kailey wanted to join in. They performed Willy Wonka Jr. and both Kailey and Kennedy got to be Oompa Loompa’s. They got to sing those fun songs, you know them…Oompa loompa doopidy doo etc. etc. They had a wonderful time, made a lot of friends and learned a great deal.

The sunday before the play, Kailey and Kennedy decided they would put on a “show” for us. They informed us that they were going to “perform” all 22 songs from the Willy Wonka play. We were a little taken aback to say the least yet excited to see what they had put together. We insisted they wait until our dinner guest arrived (Morgans family and Barrett). They did a wonderful job performing and everyone, even Morgan and Barrett, were very entertained.

School Programs

I love the end of the year music programs the schools put on. Both Kailey and Kennedy recently had their programs. They both love to sing and perform. I know this stage might not last forever, so I’ve got to enjoy it!
(I remember watching old home videos of my choir performances and there were clearly some that I didn’t want to be at)

Merry Christmas!
